Gain experience in teambuilding, critical thinking, public speaking, and the application of knowledge to real world problems. Troops will record and discuss ideas inspired by Ranger-led presentations and activities and then apply those ideas when they run real scientific tests on various methods of treating different kinds of potentially contaminated water. Part of the programs involves building a functioning, field expedient filtration system using simple materials.

Parent and Troop Leader: $8 per brownie. Register through the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. Girls will complete steps in completing the Think like an Engineer Journey (available in shop). After the program has concluded, a guided tour of Melvin Price Locks and Dam is available.
